The Uchiha were destined to a life of revenge against their hated enemies (the Senju and Konoha), with the only exceptions being Shisui and Itachi.
Itachi and Sasuke, by Ren.
Itachi possesses the natures of fire and water, enabling him to perform jutsu such as Phoenix Sage Fire, which creates a volley of small fireballs that are sent flying in an unpredictable manner, Water Fang Bullet, a move that deals fatal damage to the foe with a liquid mass that’s augmented by a spinning motion to the compactly pressured water, and Amaterasu’s antipode Tsukuyomi, which requires eye contact and traps the target within an illusion.
Old Gates, by Tae Dao.
Itachi remarked that his Sharingan and Nagato’s Rinnegan together could achieve anything, which was likely why their summoner would wait for the opportune moment to use their abilities. After pausing at a shrine and discussing Kabuto’s influence on Tobi’s plan, they encountered Naruto and B. Surprised by Naruto’s growth and the fact that he had subjugated Kurama, Itachi attempted to ask him something, but he instead attacked involuntarily. He discerned Kisame’s death from B’s possession of Samehada and while exchanging both dialogue and blows with Naruto, was shocked and disappointed to learn of his brother’s decision to destroy Konoha and Tobi’s awareness of the truth behind the Uchiha clan massacre. Much to Naruto’s shock, the crow Itachi placed inside him during their last encounter emerged. Freed from Kabuto’s control, Itachi turned to Nagato and engulfed him in flames explaining how he implanted Shisui’s eye into the crow, rigged it to use Kotoamatsukami, originally meant for Sasuke in case he attacked Konoha, overrode Kabuto’s control over himself instead. After Nagato was sealed, Itachi stated he would deal with the reincarnation technique as he had already formulated a plan. Itachi incinerated his crow, stating the eye could not be reactivated for another decade and that Naruto, having inherited Shisui’s will, could stop Sasuke without it. Realizing he tried to do everything on his own and still failed, Itachi refused to see Sasuke and resolved to leave him to his friends.

うちはイタチ explained that Madara was the first to awaken Mangekyo, then went blind and was possessed by the Mangekyo, which sought new light, so he stole his brother’s eyes, granting Eternal Mangekyo. Sasuke is Itachi’s spare pair of eyes; Itachi had been planning on taking his eyes all along. Sasuke believed he had won, but an almost blind Itachi stood in a giant spectral skeleton’s ribcage. Orochimaru whispered in Sasuke’s head, telling him he can help Sasuke exact his revenge, so Sasuke let him take control, but Susanoo chopped each of the snake’s heads; Orochimaru emerged from the last head, declaring he’s taking Sasuke’s body but he’s struck through the chest. Itachi walked over to Sasuke but coughed blood and grabbed his chest in pain while Susanoo started to fade; he tapped Sasuke’s forehead, and the blood-covered finger slowly dragged itself down his face as he collapsed. When Itachi poked Sasuke in his forehead seconds before his death, he had transferred his Mangekyo. The proof was when Sasuke saw Tobi’s Sharingan that Amaterasu would activate, engulfing Tobi in black flame. Itachi had been alive for Sasuke’s benefit, causing him to go into an emotional rage. Instead of avenging his clan, Sasuke regrouped his team and allied with Tobi.

This symbolizes how reckless Sakura is because she is attempting to save Sasuke, who is being dragged down by his hatred for Itachi.

“We’re humans, Kisame; not fish. We don’t know what kind of people we truly are ‘til the moment before our deaths. As death embraces you, you’ll realize what you are. That’s what death is.” See the younger brother Sasuke here.
