Hi, and welcome to the home of superheroes. Not only do we have Batman and Spider-Man lurking every now and then... We also have Korra, Pokemon, Naruto running amidst, and of course, members of Young Justice. And more. |
Young Roman Sionis came from a rich family, and his parents would drag him around to parties, forching him to be friends with the children of other wealthy Gothamites like the young Bruce Wayne. His parents hated other people like the Waynes, though, but put on almost social “masks” in public to seem like more charming people. Sionis hated the masks they wore&inherited the prosperous Janus Cosmetics Corporation after his parents died in a suspicious fire. Sionis quickly drove the company into the ground, leaving it open to a Wayne Industries buyout. Driven mad by losing his legacy, he turned his hatred on Wayne. Donning a mask carved from his father’s coffin and going by the name of Black Mask, he began murdering Wayne employees. In the ensuing battle with Batman, Sionis’s mask became permanently burned into his face as a living death mask. Over time, he became one of Gotham’s most ruthless crime lords, commanding the False Facers, a masked army of henchmen. With each subsequent loss to Batman, his empire shrank&sadism grew.

Returning to Gotham, Cassandra discovered not only had her adoptive family left on a year-long training trip without her but also Batman left a recently-cured Two-Face to protect the city in his stead. Despite this, Cain still retained the Batgirl persona&patrolled Gotham while staying at Wayne Manor under Alfred’s care. She gradually learned to read&write due to her attending ESL classes between her nightly activities; during one of these patrols, however, Deathstroke managed to inject her with a dose of his serum&influenced her to join him in a plan to form an army involving David Cain’s daughters. Under Slade’s order, she gained control of a part of the League of Assassins, killing Nyssa al Gul in the process. As leader of the League, she also, again under Wilson’s control, attempted to kill Supergirl&masterminded the escape of her father from prison. She was freed from the serum’s effects when Tim Drake injected her with an antiserum during a confrontation with the Teen Titans. Feeling partially responsible for what happened to her, Batman allowed Cain to return after a detoxification program&had her under strict curfew. Nightwing was not so accepting, regarding her with open hostility. When she seeked vengeance upon her father&Wilson, she had to do it secretly due to their mistrust but she was found out, resulting in her clashing with Dick&stealing the Batwing. The ordeal resulted in her being cleared from the suspicion of Wilson&her father’s influence&being officially adopted as Bruce’s daughter.

But you can see Slade puttin’ his weapons to proper use in YJ, Injustice, and in the upcoming Arkham Origins, which, I’m assuming everyone is getting?
Edward “E. Nigma,” was crazy about puzzles; his compulsion stemmed from parental abuse he endured as a child. After he got high scores on important tests, his father, unable to grasp the fact his son was brilliant, beat him out of envy. In theory, this left him with a strong desire to prove his innocence&it manifested in the form of his riddle obsession. His madness, as well as his descent into crime, may also have roots in a yearning to rise above the anonymity he possessed in his youth. As he grew older, he opened a carnival booth involving a diabolical puzzle; customers would compete to solve for prize money but if they failed, they’d have to pay a fee. In every case, he rigged the puzzle to ensure the customers wouldn’t succeed. Unsatisfied with small pickings, he closed the attraction&announced he was clever enough to use his wits for crime. Donning a green costume covered with question marks, he set out to achieve infamy as Riddler. Initially, he accomplished quite a bit, launching a crime wave across Gotham, but Batman deduced that the new villain was leaving baffling clues for the law in advance&thwarted Riddler’s schemes, although he swiftly evaded capture again&again. One of Riddler’s clues asked, “Why is corn so hard to escape from?” Batman concluded that corn’s also known as maize, which sounded like “maze.” At the scene of his next crime, he fled into a labryinth he designed to be the ultimate death-trap for Batman but ironically, he was the one who supposedly fell to his doom.
