Cain Marko, or Juggernaut, after many years, made his way to America to use his newfound power to kill his stepbrother. Charles&the X-Men were helpless to stop him until Xavier asked for assistance from Human Torch, who burned the rivets of Marko’s helmet, allowing the X-Men to remove it so that Xavier could send Marko into a coma. Eight powerful entities called the Exemplars made the Wager of Octessence over who was the strongest; they each made an artifact that would empower a champion, and each of these champions would battle, with the last man standing gaining control of Earth for their master. Watoom created the Wand (turned Tempest into wind), Krakkan the Kestel Key (granted an assortment of weaponry to the costume of Conquest), Farallah the Fearsome Fist (gave Carnivore super-speed), Ikonn the Ivory Idol (empowered Bedlam with mind-control abilities), Valtorr the Verdant Vial (cursed Decay with the “touch of death” that caused organic objects to disintegrate), Balthakk the Blinding Brazier (gifted Inferno with the rigors of heat), Raggadorr the Ringed Ruby (strengthened Stonecutter, making him able to build the God Machine that would drain humanity of its free will), and Cytorrak the Crimson Crystal (blessed Juggernaut with unimaginable capabilities). Marko was 9’5” (damn), weighs 1,900 lbs (okay then), and is not a mutant. His gem boosted his strength to immeasurable levels, being able to knock out even Hulk. Despite his size, Cain had superhumanly strong leg muscles that allowed him to move at 110 mph [or more]. Juggernaut’s skin was four times denser than the same tissue in the body of a human being, greatly contributing to his heavy weight&he was incapable of feeling pain whatsoever, regardless of magnitude, though he was able to be harmed by [exceedingly] high levels of mental or mystical attacks because they would reduce the magical energies that made him “unstoppable.” Not only was Juggernaut immortal, but he also wasn’t a millisecond past his absolute physical prime, he’s immune to pretty much 99% of anything that would deteriorate his well-being, and he could lift far in excess of a hundred tons effortlessly, being one’a the strongest to ever walk the earth&one of the few to go toe-to-toe with Thor.
