Helios rode on his chariot over Olympus, Hermes speeded down the very peaks, Hercules received the order to lead his troops down into the fray, Hades engaged several Titans in his giant form, and Poseidon performed a death blow through the chest of Epimetheus&manifested himself as a massive being, spawning Hippocampi to aid in battle. Kratos beat the Lord of Sea savagely, gouging out his eyes&snapping his neck. With Poseidon’s death, ocean levels rose significantly, causing a flood that seemingly engulfed the world, destroying almost all of mankind. Zeus assaulted Kratos with a mighty blast of lightning that blew off a chunk of Gaia’s arm, sends the two spiraling down Olympus. Kratos was unable to hang on as Gaia warned him that he was only a pawn&was now expendable, letting the embittered Spartan to tumble to his death. Kratos resolved to escape Hades [yet again] to destroy Zeus. On his way to Hades’s chamber after being sucked of nearly all his power, he reunited with a newly-formed Athena, who claimed to have reached a “new level of existence” and was willing to help Kratos resume revenge, defining his next quest of extinguishing the Flame of Olympus in order to truly defeat Zeus.
