Hi, and welcome to the home of superheroes. Not only do we have Batman and Spider-Man lurking every now and then... We also have Korra, Pokemon, Naruto running amidst, and of course, members of Young Justice. And more. |
Electric-type Pokemon often have high SPD and SPEC. ATK, making many of them good sweepers. The Electric-type’s ability to hit the very common Water&Flying-types super-effectively is important for many offensive Pokemon. Despite a lack of reliable powerful moves, Thunderbolt is one of the most commonly-used attacks due to its mix of power, accuracy, and type coverage. Thunder also sees common usage, especially on Rain Dance-based teams due to its 100% accuracy when it’s raining. The resistances to the Electric-type are also largely redundant, with the obvious exception of the Ground-type’s immunity. Electric-types have average DEF and above average SPEC. DEF. As a single type, Electric is one of two to have only one weakness, the other being the Normal-type. While they also have a small number of resistances, many dual-type Electrics have secondary types, giving them a large total number of resistances, such as Magnezone, which, along with its pre-evolved forms, has the most resistances of all Pokemon. Also, Eelektross&its family, pure Electric-types, have the ability Levitate, effectively giving them NO weaknesses.

The Normal-type is a mixed bag defensively. It sports just one weakness but at the same time only one immunity. Rock&Steel-types are the only two that resist Normal-type techniques, and Ghost-types do not affect them whatsoever. Normal-type attacks cannot deal ANY super-effective damage, which is probably their hugest disadvantage. However, this is remedied by many Normal-type Pokemon being able to learn a variety of moves from other types.

Which are your favorite Normal Pokemon?
I love this costume. And I’d love a Supergirl movie. MAKE IT HAPPEN, PEOPLE.

The Rock-type is rather risky defensively. Despite having an overall high DEF, and while it is invulnerable against the common Normal-type moves, its weaknesses to Ground&Fighting-type attacks, typically physical in nature, take it down easily. Its SPEC. DEF is mediocre at best&when combined with its frailty against Grass&Water-types, Rock-types have a tough time enduring. Their low SPD causes even further problems. However, they are one of the best types offensively. Being resisted by only three types, two of which are hindered by their own bad DEF helps a lot, and the fact that only four Pokemon have a double resistance to Rock-types keeps its moves relatively effective&versatile.

Young Roman Sionis came from a rich family, and his parents would drag him around to parties, forching him to be friends with the children of other wealthy Gothamites like the young Bruce Wayne. His parents hated other people like the Waynes, though, but put on almost social “masks” in public to seem like more charming people. Sionis hated the masks they wore&inherited the prosperous Janus Cosmetics Corporation after his parents died in a suspicious fire. Sionis quickly drove the company into the ground, leaving it open to a Wayne Industries buyout. Driven mad by losing his legacy, he turned his hatred on Wayne. Donning a mask carved from his father’s coffin and going by the name of Black Mask, he began murdering Wayne employees. In the ensuing battle with Batman, Sionis’s mask became permanently burned into his face as a living death mask. Over time, he became one of Gotham’s most ruthless crime lords, commanding the False Facers, a masked army of henchmen. With each subsequent loss to Batman, his empire shrank&sadism grew.

Defensively, the Fighting-type has pros&cons. It has key resistances to Dark&Rock-type attacks, but its weaknesses are to the common Flying&Psychic-types. It is also very possible for a Fighting-type to fall to Psychic moves in one turn due to Psychic-types’ tendency to have high SPEC. ATK. However, several Pokemon like Lucario, Gallade, and Cobalion have a subtype that rids them of the Psychic weakness. Offensively, the Fighting-type is one of the most powerful engines; it hits five different types with super-effective damage, more than any other type except for the Ground-type, with which it ties, and is the only known type super-effective against Normal-types.

Defensively, the Water-type is very strong when combined with high defensive stats. As every Water-type, with the exception of Magikarp, can use Ice-type moves to counter Grass-types, and a few like Gyarados, Octillery, and Slowking are capable of learning Fire-type moves, Electric-types are the only true threat unless the Pokemon happens to be Quagsire, Whishcash, Gastrodon, Seismitoad, or Swampert because their secondary type negates that weakness; Lanturn, a dual-type Water/Electric, is also immune if it has the ability Volt Absorb. Water-types often have the most balanced attributes, usually coming with decent ATK, SPEC. ATK, DEF, but below-average SPD. In addition to Water-types being able to to deal with Dragon&Grass-types, they can be extremely useful to be super-effective against Pokemon when traveling through caves. As a result of these advantages, as well as having to get through water routes using Surf, Waterfall, Whirpool, and Dive, most trainers usually have at least one Water-type in their party. Yay, Water Pokemon!
